The Convention on the Rights of the Child, the Child Rights Act and the various Child Rights Laws in the States in Nigeria provide for the promotion and protection of the rights of children. INTERCEP is passionate about strengthening child protection systems through setting up of Human Rights and Peace Clubs in schools, Institutions and Homes; raising awareness on child rights and peaceful co-existence. Recently, INTERCEP was in a Partnership school, House of Recab to teach Human Rights, Forgiveness and Transformational Pedagogy in peace-building facilitated by Joy Haa and Mary Samuel. Some Human Rights resource materials were presented to the School Library by Joy Haa who facilitated the training. Sam Akaakaa, the Executive Director of the House of Recab received the materials. Issues in Gender was also presented to the children by Mrs. Sewuese Isaiah Surma, a Gender Specialist with UN Women experience.
