INTERCEP/IDEAS – Int'l for Peace Charities and Human Development/Ideas

At INTERCEP, we believe that the promotion and protection of human rights are fundamental to every civilized society. We champion the core values of freedom, liberty, and human dignity, understanding that these rights must be vigorously defended. Yet, we recognise that true rights cannot flourish in an environment that is marked by violence and conflict. That is why we are committed to empowering stakeholders through skills development in conflict management and peace building. We also acknowledge the harsh reality that poverty strips away dignity and opportunity. As a dehumanizing force, it leads to exclusion and marginalisation. In response, INTERCEP implements poverty eradication strategies, including micro-credit schemes, skill acquisition programs, and education initiatives, all aimed at uplifting lives and restoring dignity. But we know that these efforts can only thrive in an environment characterised by good governance. Therefore, we advocate for good governance characterised by transparency, accountability, and inclusivity at all levels of leadership.

Our holistic approach to humanitarian services and human development integrates these four pillars:

  1. The promotion and protection of human rights;
  2. Conflict management and peace building;
  3. Poverty reduction; and
  4. Good governance.

Consequently, INTERCEP’s mandate is a holistic approach to humanitarian services and human development.
