SUPPORT FROM NIGERIAN WOMEN TRUST FUND (NWTF) TO END GENDER BASED VIOLENCE

International Centre for Peace Charities and Human Development has been supported by Nigerian Women Trust Fund to Strengthen the Capacity of Teachers and Women Groups to take the Lead in the fight on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and Ending Violence against Women and Girls (EVAWG) through Technological Innovation in Attainment of SDG 4,5and 16 in Jos Plateau State Nigeria.

The implementation has elicited serious frightening and worrisome reactions from stakeholders across various segments of the society. There has been reported cases baleful revelations on the hideous activities involving our children and the youths in the society including cases of trafficking against persons.

In the course of implementation, GBV Clubs were set up in 10 Secondary Schools in Jos, Plateau State. The capacity of members of the Clubs has been built to monitor, document and report all cases of GBV and human rights violations on a dedicated Platform and website. INTERCEP has committed Lawyers vested with the responsibility to prosecute perpetrators.

There is also a Request for donors and interested parties to support the up-scaling of the Project to the entire State and to other States of the federation for greater impactful results.
